Colas Bitucrete; Red & Black Coated Chippings

Bitucrete is applied cold, making it extremely safe to handle coming in a fine, medium, close and dense grades (4, 6, 10 and 20mm), with the 6mm medium Bitucrete also coming in red (6mm black and red kept in stock at our depot) making it perfect for patching, reinstatements and temporary surfacing.
Bitucrete is widely used for potholes in car parks, roads, drives, factory floors and many other surfaces. It also makes effective temporary ramping for high kerbs and exposed ironwork.

It is constructed from a combination of penetration grade bitumens, additives and selected aggregates and has a storage life of up to 6 months in 25kg sealed bags.

As with most bituminous products, it is best to ensure that the surface is clean, free from loose material, oil, grease and standing water. The area is best primed with Leotak on the base, with cold joint applied to the sides (or in leiu of Leotak) to create an effective adhesive base, the Bitucrete should then be filled in and tamped/compacted/rolled down, topped up as necessary and over-filled for an effective fill.
Bitucrete can handle immediate trafficking, though HGVs and other heavy vehicles will require more time to cure and set. As Bitucrete remains flexible for a short time it is the ideal material to fill irregular shaped potholes.

Bitucrete complies with BS EN 13108-1:2006 Bituminous mixtures. Material specifications for Asphalt concrete. Bitucrete is suitable for temporary ramping of exposed ironwork as required in Clause 917 of the Specification for Highway Works.
